Sailor Moon and Astronomy

- Earth has a remarkable self-healing process that enables it manage its climate and atmosphere to support living conditions. Still consistent with my version of Mamoru.
- Jupiter is not an inner/terrestrial planet but an outer/Jovian planet!
- One side of our Moon is extremely cratered (the side that we never see) because our rotations are locked. We were not always locked in rotation but because of the tidal force between Earth and its moon, Earth eventually slowed down a bit and the Moon moved further away. Fall of the moon kingdom, anyone XD!
- Uranus is actually blue, slightly less so than Neptune because of its methane gas. Sailor Moon has failed me.
- Uranus tilt is almost at 90 degrees which mean it's almost rolling on its side. Perhaps that is why "World Shaking" crashes onto the ground in its trajectory.
- Uranus and Neptune has the same makeup as do Jupiter and Saturn.
- Venus is analogous with hell as Earth is analogous heaven. Venus' atmosphere and extreme greenhouse effect makes it the hottest planet in our solar system. Its pressure is equivalent to being 1km into our oceans. I like the idea of Venus, Neptune and Uranus as well as the Shitennou carrying out the darker side of the justice under Mamoru's authority.
In mythology, Elysian Fields is the closet thing humans can get to heaven. If I recall correctly, according to Vergil, Elysian Field was underground was a division of the underworld whereas in Homer's account, it was somewhere aboveground. It's interesting to consider heaven to be all of Earth and hell to be on a different planet entirely. The playing field expands infinitely.
- Mars has an underground ocean just below its surface! It's nice to think that it has once been a luscious, watery oasis. Mercury, in contrast, is a dead world just like Earth's Moon.

----------

At this moment, I want to spend the rest of my life making little gifts like those bottles, jars and baskets.

I spent about 3-4 days illustrating an image for a holiday card. I bought a box of Strathmore blank cards (with a die cut window) yesterday. They're made of those wedding-invitation quality paper (with all the lovely texture and matching envelopes). Today, I went out and printed the image on 90lb card stock which is kinda of heavy with semi-glossy finish. I have 26 copies and I spent the past hour cutting out 10 of them with an Exacto knife and signing them with a silver pen. I now have a stack of these on my desk and it makes me unbelievably happy. I would share pictures if I didn't plan on sending copies to people on my FL.

I doubt I'll be able to make a career out of this, and it's not a particularly glamorous job. Not to mention that I'll never get that 1.5 million dollar house. I was biking in the rain which was particularly depressing but the woman at the printing center was extremely friendly and warm. I want to keep it personal and intimate which means following the production from beginning to end. But maybe I'll own a little gift shop one day and be one of those working mom success stories. I haven't worked out a brand name yet, but keep watch for my... stuff in 20-30 years!

Mmmm, trivia. Wow, the idea of an underground ocean positively gives me shivers. Think of what could be done with that! Also, the idea of the Elysian fields as being underground is one reason why I've always thought of Elysian as existing in a sort of dimensional pocket under the Earth's surface.

Same. I also like the idea of all the castles and other things being in dimensional pockets which is why they haven't been discovered.

Aw, but when you get that 1.5 million dollar (probably more because of inflation, heh) house of yours, you can spend all day doing crafts :D I plan on spending this summer folding origami roses + paper stars. It's unbelievably satisfying making things yourself, isn't it? I bet your cards are gorgeous! ♥

Don't worry, my love, when I finally get that $2 million house near the ocean (with my salary as a college professor...), you can live in my attic. You can make cards and fold papers all day in exchange for food. In between, you can help me grade papers and stuff. Sounds fair?
